Local language difficulties have long been a problem for footballers moving abroad. There are plenty of apps and translation tools to help with general phrases and words but nothing to help when it comes to communicating on a football pitch or with your manager, team mates and the fans. Nothing, that was, until the launch of Football Talk.

The app is the brainchild of professional footballer Zesh Rehman, the first British Asian to start a Premier League Match and play in all four professional Leagues in England. He has played over 400 professional career games in four different countries, more than 200 of which in Asia for top clubs in Thailand, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He is currently playing for KC Southern District FC in the Hong Kong Premier League. Football Talk proved to be very popluar in Thailand with Zeshs former Muangthong United team mate at the time, Robbie Fowler, who trialed it and approved of its value to make a difference. The app features a huge amount of phrases, spanning 10 subject categories. These range from technical terminology to the everyday sentences you will need to get by in your new home country.

The app currently supports translations between 9 languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Portugese, Thai, Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese, with plans underway to add more languages and phrases in future. As it stands the app packs in 1000 essential phrases for each of the 6 supported languages, with 6000 audio clips featured.
